Oculoplasty

Oculoplastic surgery, a specialized area of ophthalmology focused on the health of the eyelids, orbit, tear ducts and other structures around the eye, which is often called oculofacial or ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. Oculoplastic surgery is used to treat conditions ranging from drooping eyelids and blocked tear ducts to orbital fractures and tumors of the eye. While oculoplastic surgery is often medically necessary, many people choose to have surgery for purely cosmetic reasons.   • Pterygium surgery with AUTO CLAG.

Pterygium surgery involves removal of the abnormal tissue from the sclera and cornea of the eye. Todays’s techniques offer a significantly higher success rate than conventional surgery.  It is a short but very common and effective surgery.

  • DCT

Abbreviation of Dacryocystectomy, DCT is a well-established oculoplastic surgery which involves the complete removal of the lacrimal sac. It is a good treatment when it comes to treating blockage in Naso-lacrimal Duct. However, it is used in treating old aged patients with blockage Naso-Lacrimal Duct and also to be noted that watering of eyes will still exist after surgery but will prevent eyes from getting infection.

  • DCR

Abbreviation of dacryocystorhinostomy, DCR is also used to treat blockage in Naso-Lacrimal Duct. In this surgery, a new channel is created for the lacrimal fluid to drain from the eye. It is preferred more than DCT. There will be no watering complaint after DCR surgery if it’s successful.

  • Entropion Correction

Entropion refers to a condition where a patient’s eyelid or lid margin turns inward, which gives rise to the condition of eyelashes pocking the eye, leading to pain, irritation and watering. It’s a very discomfort situation and here the Entropion correction procedures come to rescue.

  • Ectropion Correction

Ectropion refers to the condition where a patient’s eye or lid margin turns outward; it is very commonly seen in old age people. It gives rise to the symptoms like watering and dry eyes. Ectropion Correction proves to be beneficial for this particular situation.

  • Ptosis

Ptosis who’s “P” is silent, refers to the dropping of eye lid. It is Common in old age person but a young patient could also suffer through it. This procedure raises the lid to the normal position and maintains its normal appearance.

  • Lid Repair

Often when somebody has an accident and suffers ocular injury, the patient’s eye lid could be damaged. In that case, the eye lid has to be Repaired and reconstructed. Lid Repair surgery, helps in doing so.

  • Squint correction

Squint correction refers to the condition where you can see misalignment of eyes. In easy understanding, that condition where one eyes seems to be not fixation where a person is looking.
